Is there a dress code at No. 31 Restaurant & Bar?

There is no strict dress code at No. 31. As a premium fine dining restaurant in Hanmer Springs, we do encourage guests to dress well, and smart casual attire is a good choice for dinner with us.

What is on the menu at No. 31?

No. 31 serves a chef’s tasting menu that changes every week, built around fresh, seasonal produce. Guests choose from a selection of entrées, mains and desserts, with the option of additional courses and a matched wine flight. The weekly menu is posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages and outside the restaurant. You can also view our sample food menu.

How much does the chef’s tasting menu cost?

The No. 31 chef’s tasting menu is NZ$75 per person for two courses or NZ$88 per person for three courses. Additional courses and a matched wine flight are available on top.

Is there a minimum order or an à la carte menu?

We require a minimum of two courses per person. No. 31 does not offer an à la carte menu or single-course dining; every guest dines from our two or three course chef’s tasting menu.

Can I order à la carte at No. 31?

Are children welcome at No. 31?

Yes, well-behaved children are welcome at No. 31. We even offer a kids tasting menu, so the whole family can enjoy a fine dining experience in Hanmer Springs.

Can I bring my own wine (BYO)?

No, No. 31 is not BYO. Our drinks menu focuses on local North Canterbury wines such as Greystone, Terrace Edge and Pegasus Bay, Canterbury craft beers from Brew Moon and Three Boys, and a selection of delicious cocktails.

Do you offer wine matching?

Yes. You can add a wine match to your chef’s tasting menu. If you would rather not have the wine match, you can choose from our drinks menu of regional wines, local beers and cocktails.

What are your opening hours?

No. 31 Restaurant & Bar is open for dinner Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm. We are closed on Mondays.

Is there parking at the restaurant?

Yes. There is plenty of free street parking outside No. 31, as well as parking at the back of the restaurant.

No. 31 is on Amuri Avenue in the heart of Hanmer Springs village, Canterbury, a short walk from Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa. It is an ideal spot for dinner after a soak in the hot pools.
